A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to John 14:15-16,23-26
Jesus said to his disciples: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always. “Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him. Those who do not love me do not keep my words; yet the word you hear is not mine but that of the Father who sent me. “I have told you this while I am with you. The Advocate, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you.”

After attending the anticipated mass of the Pentecost Sunday, I received a message from Father Leung asking me how I thought of the homily. I was shocked. First, Father noticed that I was there in the mass. Second, is this a question from the student asking his teacher how he performed in a presentation? Father has preached for so many years, did he really mean to ask me how he has performed? If so, he would have set a very good example on how to be a humble person. Third, is Father following up the seeds that he sows? Many sow, but don’t care where the seeds are sown, and whether the seeds will grow or not. Father does care.
Father was strategic to be asking. Normally I would have forgotten what the homily was when I walk out of the church. Now that he asked, I recalled what his homily was. Credit goes to the Holy Spirit too, He knows that the Holy Spirit was seldom in my prayers, so through Father Leung, He told me how important He is. He also knows that I have not put Father’s words seriously in heart, so He made Father ask me the question after the mass so that I would think of it over and over again.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the HOLY SPIRIT. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
