“Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you walking on the water.” (Matthew 14:28)

In addition to the gospel of Luke, the other three Gospels also recorded the miracle of Jesus walking on water. Matthew recalled another segment where Peter also walked on the water.

Peter could have been safe in his boat, but in face of the strong wind and waves, he was afraid and started to sink.

This is a portrayal of the life of our faith. Do we not fall due to the weakness of human nature?

At the most critical moment, Peter cried out, "Lord, save me!"

Jesus “immediately” stretched out his hand and “took hold of” him. What a beautiful and inspiring moment.

Jesus continued saying, "Man of little faith, why did you doubt?” Faith is not an impulse of believing but a cultivation of one’s spiritual and religious life constantly.

Peter once denied himself that he was a disciple of Jesus in the chief priest’s courtyard. After His resurrection Jesus did not point out Peter’s fault but rather asked him lightly, “Peter, do you still love me?”

As we can see, Jesus is serious about the repentance of our soul. He is willing to see that we walk towards Him. Even at the moment of vigorous storms, He will tell us, “Do not be afraid, I will be with you everyday till the end of the world.”

This is our faith, our hope.
