那時候，耶穌對他的門徒說：「你們要提防假先知！他們來到你們跟前，外披羊毛，內裡卻是兇殘的豺狼。你們可憑他們的果實辨別他們：荊棘上豈能收到葡萄？或者蒺藜上豈能收到無花果？這樣，凡是好樹都結好果子；而壞樹都結壞果子；好樹不能結壞果子，壞樹也不能結好果子。凡不結好果子的樹，必要砍倒，投入火中。所以，你們可憑他們的果實辨別他們。」

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew 7:15-20
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? 17 So, every sound tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears evil fruit. 18 A sound tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus you will know them by their fruits.
