恭讀聖若望福 6:60-69

耶穌的門徒中有許多人聽了他的話，便說：「這話生硬，誰能聽得下去呢？」耶穌自知他的門徒對這話竊竊私議，便向他們說：「這話使你們起反感嗎？那麼，如果你們看到人子升到他先前所在的地方去，將怎樣呢？使生活的是神，肉一無所用；我給你們所講論的話，就是神，就是生命。但你們中間有些人，卻不相信。」原來，耶穌從起頭就知道那些人不信，和誰要出賣他。所以他又說：「為此，我對你們說過：除非蒙父恩賜的，誰也不能到我這裏來。」
從此，他的門徒中有許多人退去了，不再同他往來。於是耶穌向那十二人說：「難道你們也願走嗎？」西滿伯多祿回答說：「主！惟你有永生的話。我們去投奔誰呢？我們相信，而且已知道你是天主的聖者。」

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to John 6:60-69

60 Many of his disciples, when they heard it, said, “This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?” 61 But Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at it, said to them, “Do you take offense at this? 62 Then what if you were to see the Son of man ascending where he was before? 63 It is the spirit that gives life, the flesh is of no avail; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. 64 But there are some of you that do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the first who those were that did not believe, and who it was that would betray him. 65 And he said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.” 66 After this many of his disciples drew back and no longer went about with him. 67 Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also wish to go away?” 68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life; 69 and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.”

恭讀聖若望福音 6:52-59

那時，猶太人彼此爭論說：「這人怎麼能把他的肉，賜給我們吃呢？」耶穌向他們說：「我實實在在告訴你們：你們若不吃人子的肉，不喝他的血，在你們內，便沒有生命。誰吃我的肉，並喝我的血，必得永生，在末日，我且要叫他復活，因為我的肉，是真實的食品；我的血，是真實的飲料。誰吃我的肉，並喝我的血，便住在我內，我也住在他內。就如那生活的父派遣了我，我因父而生活；照樣，那吃我的人，也要因我而生活。這是從天上降下來的食糧，不像祖先吃了『瑪納』仍然死了；誰吃這食糧，必要生活直到永遠。」這些話是耶穌在葛法翁會堂教訓人時說的。

52 The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” 53 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; 54 he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me.
