『祥』話短說 (2011年12月16日)

司鐸職務與工作
人的成長過程有進也有退。我指的成長不是生理方面,而是倫理方面。我今年晉鐸剛好踏入第四十個年頭。第一個十年,工作上我是全情投入的。第二個十年,年紀剛過四十,曾在芝加哥進修牧民神學一年,本應回修院任代理院長,後來被委任為一堂區的主任司鐸。開始時以行政手法去處理堂區事務 , 着重人際關係而忽視祈禱 ,這是我牧職生涯中最遺憾的十年。
第三十個年頭是天主給我恩慈之年,因為主教派遣我到多倫多服務當地的華人。環境比較清靜,也認識了一位有五傷的女士,從此改變了我牧職的態度,也改善了祈禱生活。
第四十個年頭則服務聖母領報堂。堂的設計,不單華麗,它的聖體堂更是讓人專注祈禱之場所。我感謝主教派遣我來這堂區服務。由於我沒有擔當校監的職務,生活能踏入平實的節奏。祈禱生活也積極起來。
堂區牧職,應該是重質而不重量。無論牧職同工或牧民議會的成員,能產生福傳效果的,主要是來自互愛。互愛的最大的考驗,是同工間不同性格的磨合。
我和副本堂,性格剛剛相反,再加上文化的差異,要愉快合作,不是易事,但我們克服了如上的這些困難。因為對方謙遜服從,而我也善意待人。就是這樣,我們成了上主牧民的工具。
總的來說,為神職人員,我們真正的職務不是工作,而是祭獻。我們的生活方式,不單是以人為本,而是以天為本,即以天主聖意為大前題。
不少教牧同工,由於工作繁重,結果病倒,實是可惜。假若能與人分享,可避免心力疲乏之苦。若真的病倒,不妨與三五知己,互訴心聲。但,這是神職人員最弱的一環,因為在修院訓練過程,嚴禁私交私好(大家可以理解其因由)。結果,便容易陷入孤立無援之境。
今天,牧職再不是個人的工作,而是群策群力的見證。
