恭讀聖瑪竇福音 14:22-36
群眾吃飽以後, 耶穌即刻催迫門徒上船，在他以先到對岸去；這其間，他遣散了群眾。耶穌遣散了群眾以後，便私自上山祈禱去了。到了夜晚，他獨自一個人在那裏。船已離岸幾里了，受著波浪的顛簸，因為吹的是逆風。夜間四更時分，耶穌步行海上，朝著他們走來。門徒看見他在海上行走，就驚駭說：「是個妖怪。」並且嚇得大叫起來。耶穌立即向他們說道：「放心! 是我。不必害怕!」伯多祿回答說：「主! 如果是你，就叫我在水面上步行到你那裏罷 !」耶穌說：「來罷!」伯多祿遂從船上下來，走在水面上，往耶穌那裏去。但他一見風勢很強，就害怕起來，並開始下沉，遂大叫說：「主，救我罷!」耶穌立刻伸手拉住他，對他說：「小信德的人哪! 你為甚麼懷疑?」他們上了船，風就停了。船上的人便朝拜他說：「你真是天主子。」他們渡到對岸，來到革乃撒勒地方。那地方的人一認出是耶穌，就打發人到周圍整個地方，把一切患病的人，都帶到耶穌跟前，求耶穌讓他們只摸摸他的衣邊；凡摸著的，就痊愈了。

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew 14:22-36

The crowd all ate and were satisfied. Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and precede him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds. After doing so, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When it was evening he was there alone. Meanwhile the boat, already a few miles offshore, was being tossed about by the waves, for the wind was against it. During the fourth watch of the night, 8 he came toward them, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw him walking on the sea they were terrified. “It is a ghost,” they said, and they cried out in fear. At once (Jesus) spoke to them, “Take courage, it is I; 9 do not be afraid.” Peter said to him in reply, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw how (strong) the wind was he became frightened; and, beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, 10 why did you doubt?” After they got into the boat, the wind died down. 11 Those who were in the boat did him homage, saying, “Truly, you are the Son of God.” After making the crossing, they came to land at Gennesaret. When the men of that place recognized him, they sent word to all the surrounding country. People brought to him all those who were sick and begged him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak, and as many as touched it were healed.

耶穌一聽若翰的死訊，就從那裡上船，私下退到荒野地方；群眾聽說了，就從各城裡步行跟了他去。他一下船，看見一大夥群眾，便對他動了憐憫的心，治好了他們的病人。到了傍晚，門徒到他跟前說：「這地方是荒野，時候已不早了，請你遣散群眾吧！叫他們各自到村莊去買食物。」耶穌卻對他們說：「他們不必去，你們給他們吃的吧！」門徒對他說：「我們這裡什麼也沒有，只有五個餅和兩條魚。」耶穌說：「你們給我拿到這裡來！」遂又吩咐群眾坐在草地上，然後拿起那五個餅和兩條魚，望天祝福了；把餅擘開，遞給門徒，門徒再分給群眾。眾人吃了，也都飽了；然後他們把剩餘的碎塊收了滿滿十二籃。吃的人數，除了婦女和小孩子外，約有五千。

默　想

• 若望福音第六章的增餅奇蹟中，還提及門徒擁有二百塊德納，但他們認為實在太少了，那夠餵飽幾千人吃？二百塊德納究竟有多少？大約等於當時一名工人八個月的薪金。
• 那孩子捐出他僅有的五塊餅、兩條魚，他當然也深知不足夠大家吃，但總是捐了出來。
• 什麼是多？什麼是少？我們怎樣衡量？
• 如果在那荒山野嶺，人人也像那孩子般，單純地把自己帶備的，悉數拿出來一起共享，不正是五餅二魚的精神嗎？
• 大家也共同經驗何謂「越分越多」的樂趣。
• 生命不正是這樣「越分越多」、「越分越喜悅」的嗎？

Do not refuse my love. Do not renounce salvation and eternal life for the sake of transience and frivolity of this life. I am among you to lead you and, as a mother, to caution you. Come with me. ”

親愛的孩子們：
我今天到來，以母愛給你們指出你們應走的路，好使你們全部都能越來越相似我的聖子；這樣你們更接近和中悅天主。不要拒絕我的愛。不要以現世短暫及輕浮的生命去取代救恩及永生。我和你們在一起，如同母親那樣帶領你們，提省你們。和我一起來罷！

「耶穌回答說：『我就是生命的食糧，到我這裏來的，永不會饑餓；信從我的，總不會渴。』」(若6:35)

不過當耶穌具體地說明這『生命的食糧』便是他的肉時，有部份門徒覺得他的話太生硬，不能置信，便離開了耶穌。

耶穌便說：「為此，我對你們說過: 除非蒙父恩賜的，誰也不能到我這裏來。」

相信耶穌臨在聖體聖事中，是一份恩賜。

耶穌再問其他的門徒:「難道你們也願走嗎？」

率直的伯多祿回答說：「主! 惟你有永生的話，我們去投奔誰呢？ 我們相信，而且已知道你是天主的聖者。」

在人的角度，是很難明白耶穌的說話：「你們若不吃人子的肉，不喝他的血，在你們內，便沒有生命。」的真正意思。

為伯多祿，若耶穌這樣說了，便只管信。

耶穌在最後晚餐時，祝聖了餅、酒成為他的體、血時，補充說：你們應這樣行，為紀念我。(參閱路22:19)耶穌付予了門徒司祭的職務。

這樣，萬世萬代的信友便有機會領受基督體血的大恩。

主耶穌，請增加我們的信德。

恭讀聖若望福音　6:24-35

那時候，群眾發覺耶穌和祂的門徒都不在海邊，便上了那些小船，往葛法翁，去找耶穌。當群眾在海的對岸，找到耶穌時，就對耶穌說：「辣彼，你什麼時候到了這裡？」耶穌回答說：「我實實在在告訴你們：你們尋找我，並不是因為看到了神蹟，而是因為吃餅吃飽了。你們不要為那可損壞的食糧勞碌，而要為那存留到永生的食糧勞碌，即人子所要賜給你們的，因為祂是天主聖父所印證的。」群眾問耶穌說：「我們該做什麼，才算做天主的事業呢？」耶穌回答說：「天主要你們做的事業，就是要你們信從祂所派遣來的那一位。」群眾又說：「那麼，祢能行什麼神蹟，給我們看，好叫我們信服祢呢？祢能做什麼呢？我們的祖先在曠野裡，吃過『瑪納』，正如經上記載的：『祂從天上賜給了他們食物。』」於是，耶穌向群眾說：「我實實在在告訴你們：並不是梅瑟，賜給了你們從天上來的食糧，而是我父現在賜給你們，從天上來的真正食糧，因為天主的食糧，是由天降下，並賜給世界生命的。」群眾便說：「主！祢就把這樣的食糧，常常賜給我們吧！」耶穌回答說：「我就是生命的食糧；到我這裡來的，永不會飢餓；信從我的，總不會渴。」

24 So when the people saw that Jesus was not there, nor his disciples, they themselves got into the boats and went to Caper’na-um, seeking Jesus. 25 When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, “Rabbi, when did you come here?” 26 Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves. 27 Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of man will give to you; for on him has God the Father set his seal.” 28 Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” 29 Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.” 30 So they said to him, “Then what sign do you do, that we may see, and believe you? What work do you perform? 31 Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, `He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’” 32 Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven; my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven, and gives life to the world.” 34 They said to him, “Lord, give us this bread always.” 35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst.
