耶穌離開撒瑪黎雅,往加里肋亞去了。耶穌曾親自作證說:「先知在自己的家鄉決受不到尊榮。」他一來到加肋里亞,加肋里亞人便接待了他,因為他們也曾上了耶路撒冷去過節,並親眼看見了他在慶節中所行的一切。
耶穌又來到加里肋亞加納,即他變水為酒的地方。那裡有一位王臣,他的兒子在葛法翁患病。這人一聽說耶穌從猶太到加里肋亞來了,就到他那裡去,懇求他下來醫治他的兒子,因為他快要死了。耶穌對他說:「除非你們看到神蹟和奇事,你們總是不信。」那王臣向他說:「主,在我的小孩未死以前,請你下來吧!」耶穌回答說:「去吧!你的兒子活了。」那人信了耶穌向他說的話,便走了,他正下去的時候,僕人們迎上他來,說他的孩子活了。他問他們孩子病勢好轉的時刻,他們給他說:「昨天第七時辰,熱就退了。」父親就知道正是耶穌向他說:「你的兒子活了」的那個時辰;他和他的全家便都信了。這是耶穌從猶太回到加里肋亞後,所行的第二個神蹟。

默 想

  • 我們要怎樣才能真正信從耶穌呢?是看到神蹟嗎?但事實是,我們很多人無論是見到神蹟或是見不到神蹟,都沒有改變–我們只是領了洗,然後便冷漠地對耶穌。
  • 為什麼會這樣?因為我們根本沒有「深入地」認識耶穌這個人。我們很喜歡認識我們的朋友,因為很容易和他們「溝通」,但和耶穌溝通,並不是慣用和朋友的方法,又看不見,那就沒有那麼熱心了。
  • 有些人做學問研究,例如研究甘地、或是孔子,能大量研讀他們的書,比我們對耶穌更熱心。
  • 若你現在沒有這麼熱心,或許用研究的心態可能會有幫助。就是不單單從聖經看耶穌,而是去看看有關耶穌的書,或其他人如何看耶穌,或許有幫助。

默 想

  • 耶穌來到世界,不是為審判,是為拯救。只是我們常捉錯用神,不讓自己領略祂的大愛。
  • 曾聽一些教友有如此的想法:我在等待祂的審判,死後我必定下地獄了,生命沒有出路。改變信仰最基本的觀念,正是出路。惡性的、不健康的內疚感,窒礙我們明白祂的愛是何等的廣、闊、高、深。
  • 不要灰心,不要放棄,祂永遠等待我們,祂一定記得你。

The Pope in Africa. Day 3

Media missing ‘true story’ of Pope advancing hope in Africa, local leader says

.- An African pro-life leader has noted the stark contrast between hostile media reports on Pope Benedict XVI’s Africa visit and the thousands of Africans who joyously greeted the pontiff as he arrived in Cameroon. He said the “true story” of the Pope’s visit is his inspiration of African Catholics and all people to have “hope” and to address the “root causes” of the continent’s problems.

“I saw over 2,000 people that stayed in heavy rain singing and praying as the Holy Father presided over vespers in the Basilica of Our Lady Queen of the Apostles. This is not a sign of dismay or disillusionment with the Church, but of devotion and joy,” said George Wirnkar, Director of Outreach for Human Life International’s (HLI) Francophone Africa Region.

“Perhaps the historic first visit of the Holy Father to Africa and his providential first stop in Yaoundé, Cameroon should herald an era where the authentic voice of Africans is heard rather than the imposed views of Western press who do not speak for the people of Africa—the continent of hope,” he continued, echoing Pope Benedict’s own description of Africa.

“The true story of the papal visit is that the Holy Father is inspiring African Catholics and all persons of good will to have hope, to deal directly with the root causes of the problems affecting our people, and resist the slogans of the West which offer false solutions to these problems.”

Some Western media outlets had seized upon Pope Benedict’s in-flight comments about condom usage in AIDS prevention programs. He had said:

“It is my belief that the most effective presence on the front in the battle against HIV/AIDS is precisely the Catholic Church and her institutions. I think of the Community of Sant’ Egidio, which does so much, visibly and invisibly to fight AIDS, of the Camillians, of all the nuns that are at the service of the sick.

“I would say that this problem of AIDS cannot be overcome with advertising slogans. If the soul is lacking, if Africans do not help one another, the scourge cannot be resolved by distributing condoms; quite the contrary, we risk worsening the problem. The solution can only come through a twofold commitment: firstly, the humanization of sexuality, in other words a spiritual and human renewal bringing a new way of behaving towards one another; and secondly, true friendship, above all with those who are suffering, a readiness – even through personal sacrifice – to be present with those who suffer. And these are the factors that help and bring visible progress.”

Joseph Meaney, Director of International Coordination for HLI, commented on the Pope’s remarks, saying:

“Pope Benedict gave a thoughtful, spiritual response indicating a solution that is increasingly confirmed by empirical science… The hopeful message articulated by the Holy Father is exactly what HLI is trying to bring to fruition in cooperation with African leaders like George Wirnkar. This is about affirming what is most life-giving in African culture.”

HLI reported that it recently concluded its first Africa conference of Medical Midwifery and Nursing Students for Life. Held March 13-14, the meeting’s more than 125 student participants listened to speakers and discussed pro-life issues.

Conference participants held 10 banners along Pope Benedict’s welcome route expressing support for him.

“Papal visits are usually a time of great spiritual renewal and a time when many people are listening to the Church,” said Wirnkar. “Speaking to physician trainees, practitioners, nurses and other medical professionals about issues which Pope Benedict and Pope John Paul II have taught so clearly is crucial, so the Holy Father’s visit seemed the perfect time to kick off this program.”

“It is vital that pro-life young people are not converted to the pro-abortion or population control mentality while in medical school,” Meaney added, saying the graduates of the program are the pro-life professionals of the future.

“HLI is proud to reach an ever larger audience in Africa with the pro-life message thanks to George Wirnkar and our other leaders,” he said.

Report says 2008 was ‘horrible year’ for Christians in India

.- The 2008 annual report of the All India Christian Council has showed that it was a “horrible year” for Christians in India, who were subjected to waves of violence and attacks. The report called the constant persecution Christians were subjected to in the state of Orrisa, “ethnic cleansing” and “the fruit of Hindu-inspired terrorism.”

According to the Fides news agency, the AICC report indicates that there were “106 isolated attacks against Christian persons or structures, which have affected 16 states of India, with an average of 9 acts of violence per month.”

The report divides the attacks in Orissa into two phases, which it says constitute a “black page” for Indian society and for its values of democracy, freedom, pluralism and respect for individual rights.

“It is a true ‘negative record’ in the history of India,” the report stated.

The first phase of the report, described as the fruit of “ethnic cleansing,” occurred “at the end of 2007 and the beginning of 2008, when Hindu extremist groups attacked the Christian community, destroying 105 churches, killing 9 Christians, assaulting and raping women, burning more than 730 rooms and damaging 40 businesses.”

The report says that the second phase began on August 23, 2008 and was the “fruit of Hindu-inspired terrorism.”  This period of persecution saw 120 deaths (including a Catholic priest), 4640 destroyed homes, 315 towns in which the Christian presence was completely wiped out, 250 churches and places of prayer destroyed or damaged, 13 Christian schools looted, and more than 54,000 people made internal refugees.

默 想

  • 很明顯,那名法利塞人根本不了解自己,他的內在世界是一個決裂的世界,內外接不上軌,說到底,都是講求別人對他的眼光。
  • 那稅吏的掙扎,顯示他正往自己內在世界進發,而且是一個窄門式的世界,尚有無限領域等待他去追尋。他甚至將自己透過祈禱、悔罪,坦露在上主面前,把自己全然交託給那比他更大的天父。
  • 我們不時處於「法利塞人」或「稅吏」這兩個選擇之間。大家記得嗎?「天主,可憐我這個罪人」正是那歷久不衰的古老耶穌禱文 (Jesus Prayer),恰如一面鏡子,藉著重複又重複的唸誦禱文,我們的陰暗面得以在上主前呈露及交託。

「祥」話短說 (2009年3月21日)

教區國籍司鐸協會(HK Diocesan Chinese Priests Association)成立於一九七九年三月二十一日。成立主要目的:維繫國籍司鐸間的情誼,因為當時有一班國籍司鐸,有見及修會會士都有定期聚會,便向當時的主教胡振中申請成立教區國籍司鐸協會。第一任會長為已故的麥耀初神父。我則為一任財政。過去三十年,我曾經擔任過兩次會長之職及一次副會長之職。

今屆會長為周景勳神父(1980*),內務副會長為陳德雄神父(1988),外務副會長為本人(1972),財政為譚漢威神父(2008),秘書為廖雅倫神父(2008)。大家的晉鐸年份彼此相隔剛好八至十年,屬三代同堂!

香港教區共有六十八位教區神父,包括一位為由瑪利諾傳教修會轉為香港教區的區成賢神父(Fr Francis Elsinger)。另外,香港教區聖職班還包括八位終身執事。同時,香港教區共有二百三十二位修會神父,分屬十六個不同修會。

國籍司鐸協會的成立,不是與修會分庭抗禮,而是在不同神恩的推動下,一同攜手建樹香港教會。

今次我本人被選為副會長,實屬意外,因為我已屬花甲之年。我的夢想是希望能帶動教區神父,走向更合一、共融的目標。

教宗已宣佈:接隨聖保祿年,六月十九日開啟司鐸年。這與香港教區早前宣佈七月份開始聖召年,不謀而合。求上主引領更多年青人,走向事奉教會的行列。

恭讀聖馬爾谷福音 12:28-34
那時候,有一個經師上前來,問耶穌說:「一切誡命中,那一條是第一條呢?」耶穌回答說:「第一條是:『以色列!你要聽!上主我們的天主是唯一的天主。你們 當全心、全靈、全力愛上主,你的天主。』第二條是:『你應當愛近人如你自己。』再沒有別的誡命比這兩條更大的了。」那經師對耶穌說:「不錯,師傅說的實在 對:他是唯一的,除他以外,再沒有別的:應以全心、全意、全力愛他,並愛近人如自己,遠超過一切全燔祭和犧牲。」耶穌見他回答的明智,便對他說:「你離天 主的國不遠了。」從此,沒有人敢再問他。——這是基督的福音。

Benedict XVI: God is the true author of life

教宗牧靈訪問喀麥隆與安哥拉:雅溫得運動場主持大聖若瑟瞻禮彌撒,授第二屆非洲主教特別會議綱領與各國主教團主席,訪問殘障復健中心,會晤非洲主教特別會議委員會成員

梵蒂岡電臺訊)教宗本篤十六世首度牧靈訪問非洲已進入第二階段。他于今天三月二十日上午十點三十分告別喀麥隆首都雅溫得,向南飛去,預定經過兩個小時又一刻鐘的飛行之後,降落安哥拉首都羅安達,展開他此行第二個國家、也是最後一個國家的牧靈訪問活動。教宗將在安哥拉停留三天,于三月二十三日上午啓程返回羅馬。

現在我們向各位報導教宗十九日當天在雅溫得的主要活動。這天上午八點三刻,教宗先在聖座駐喀麥隆大使館接見喀麥隆國内伊斯蘭教團體代表,然後乘車前往阿馬杜·阿西喬運動場,主持大聖若瑟瞻禮彌撒聖祭。彌撒結束之前,教宗親自把第二屆非洲主教特別會議綱領交給非洲各國主教團主席。這台充滿非洲色彩氣息的彌撒是教宗訪問喀麥隆最重要的一項活動,幾乎可以說他就是爲了親自把非洲主教會議綱領交給非洲各國主教而來到喀麥隆的。這項會議將于今年十月在梵蒂岡舉行。

十九日這天下午,教宗有兩項活動。首先是訪問保羅·埃米爾·萊熱樞機主教所建立的全國殘障復健中心。保羅·埃米爾· 萊熱樞機主教原是加拿大蒙特利爾縂主教區的縂主教,他在一九六八年退休後,前往喀麥隆傳教,于一九七二年在雅溫得創立這所以他為名的殘障復健中心。這個中心的目的是協助殘障者恢復健康,並培養他們謀生的技能。中心竣工後,由當時總統阿馬杜·阿希喬主持落成啓用典禮。一九七八年這所復健中心轉贈給國家,由社會事務部負責管理經營。

訪問殘障復健中心後已近黃昏,教宗便回到聖座大使館,在這裡他接見了非洲主教特別會議委員會成員,並和他們共進晚餐,象徵第二屆非洲主教特別會議的揭幕。當然,真正的會期是今年十月在羅馬梵蒂岡舉行的。

關於教宗在雅溫得阿馬杜·阿希喬運動場主持彌撒这項活動,本台特派員詹卡洛·拉維拉來自當地的報導說:

“教宗在他的主保大聖若瑟瞻禮這天集合了全非洲的教會,勉勵他們為非洲大陸的前途盡一項基本任務,那就是:成爲家庭、青年、男女老幼的嚮導,克服種種困難,並在福音的光照下重新發現充滿希望的生命。教宗舉行彌撒的祭台位于一個像是非洲傳統草棚屋的巨大建築内,運動場坐滿了大約五萬人,包括喀麥隆總統比雅伉儷全家和許多位政府要員。這台彌撒是教宗非洲行的巔峰,彌撒結束時,教宗把第二屆非洲主教特別會議綱領交給了非洲主教們”。
“非洲以它的傳統,它的音樂和它的色彩熱情地擁抱了教宗。而教宗則再次以聖若瑟為榜樣,勉勵非洲教友效法,因爲聖若瑟接受了天主給予的最艱巨的信德考驗,宣佈他的妻子瑪利亞將因天主而懷孕天主子耶穌基督。教宗激勵喀麥隆爲人父母者本著對天主的信心,接納作父母親的責任,把人性和精神價值傳遞給子女,善度愛和彼此尊重的生活。在我們這個時代,許多人肆無忌憚地推崇金錢王國,輕視貧窮者。至於你們,應當非常小心,因爲整個非洲,尤其喀麥隆,如果不承認生命的真正創造者,便處在危險中!你們不要被虛假的光榮和虛僞的理想所迷惑。但要繼續相信只有天主聖三愛你們,一如你們所期待的;只有天主能夠真正滿足你們的需求,能夠使你們生活穩定 ”。
“教宗繼續說:只有天主會賜給你們力量,按照他所願意的來教育家庭,就像他賜給聖若瑟的一樣。只要向天主祈求真正的愛和持久的忠誠這種恩寵便夠了。只有這樣,家庭才能夠得到真正的保護。教宗強調:就像其他大陸一樣,今天非洲的家庭也處在困難的時期,一些傳統的生命價值被混亂,一代和一代之間的關係受到改變,以致不像以往那樣有利於傳遞古老的知識和祖先遺留下來的智慧。因此,家庭成員關係的素質遭到嚴重的侵蝕,年輕一代的家庭成員再也沒有根基,他們變得脆弱,只好逃避到那些從外面引進來的轉瞬即過和虛僞的樂園中,藉以彌補生活的不如意。這樣的樂園決不給人保證真正和持久的幸福,非洲人有時候也被迫逃離自己,逃離骨肉兄弟姐妹,逃避天主”。
“教宗認爲醫治這一切弊病的良方是不要失望。要在絕望中懷抱希望。不要害怕信仰耶穌和愛耶穌,不要害怕承認耶穌是道路、真理、生命和真正的救援。教宗說只要非洲像若瑟和瑪利亞一樣,不害怕愛教會,就可以成爲希望的大陸。教宗也提醒結婚的夫妻和獻身事主的人,為天國守貞,度獨身的生活不但不與婚姻的尊嚴衝突,反而是以婚姻的尊嚴為前提。婚姻與守貞兩者都是唯一度天主和他的選民所訂立的盟約的方式。對兒童們,教宗也有一番安慰鼓勵的話,他提到失落雙親、被迫流浪街頭、遭侮辱糟蹋、當兒童兵的孩子,他說天主愛他們,不要忘記聖若瑟保護他們”。
“最後,教宗把第二屆非洲主教特別會議綱領交給在場的每位主教。他祝望未來的會議有助於加強非洲人民的希望,使各地教會更有傳播福音的朝氣,為非洲的修和、正義與和平做出貢獻”。
