Homily - 3rd Sunday of Lent (Mar 15, 2009)
A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to John 2:13-25
13 The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers at their business. 15 And making a whip of cords, he drove them all, with the sheep and oxen, out of the temple; and he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. 16 And he told those who sold the pigeons, “Take these things away; you shall not make my Father’s house a house of trade.” 17 His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.” 18 The Jews then said to him, “What sign have you to show us for doing this?” 19 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” 20 The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?” 21 But he spoke of the temple of his body. 22 When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken. 23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover feast, many believed in his name when they saw the signs which he did; 24 but Jesus did not trust himself to them, 25 because he knew all men and needed no one to bear witness of man; for he himself knew what was in man.

猶太人的逾越節近了，耶穌便上耶路撒冷。在殿院裡，耶穌看見賣牛、羊、鴿子的，及坐在錢莊上，兌換銀錢的人，就用繩索做了一條鞭子，把眾人連羊帶牛，都從殿院趕出去，傾倒了換錢者的銀錢，推翻了他們的桌子；對賣鴿子的人說：「把這些東西從這裡拿出去，不要使我父的殿宇成為商場。」耶穌的門徒就想起了經上記載的話：「我對你殿宇所懷的熱忱，把我耗盡。」猶太人便問耶穌說：「祢顯什麼神蹟給我們看，證明祢有權做這些事？」耶穌回答他們說：「你們拆毀這座聖殿，三天之內，我要把它重建起來。」猶太人就說：「這座聖殿建築了四十六年，祢在三天之內，就能把它重建起來嗎？」但耶穌所說的聖所，是指祂自己的身體。所以，當祂從死者中復活以後，祂的門徒就想起了他曾說過這話，便相信了聖經，及耶穌說過的話。當耶穌在耶路撒冷過逾越節時，有許多人看見祂所行的神蹟，便信從了祂；耶穌卻不信任他們，因為祂認識所有的人；祂並不需要誰告訴祂，人是怎樣的，因為祂洞悉人的內心。

Pope strongly encourages Eucharistic adoration

Pope Benedict XVI strongly encouraged the practice of Eucharistic adoration during a March 13 meeting with the members of the Congregation for Divine Worship. The Holy Father asked the Congregation to help promote the practice, “through a greater awareness of the mystery in complete faithfulness to Sacred Tradition, and by enhancing liturgical life within our communities.” The faithful should recognize the transcendent God in the Eucharist, and respond with reverent awe, the Pope said. He cited his own words to a World Youth Day gathering in Cologne to express the significance of the Eucharist:
God no longer simply stands before us as the One who is totally Other. He is within us, and we are in Him. His dynamic enters into us and then seeks to spread outwards to others until it fills the world, so that His love can truly become the dominant measure of the world.
During Lent, the Pope said, the faithful should practice fasting “as a preparation for the Eucharist and as a spiritual weapon to fight against any disordered attachment to ourselves.”

默 想
- 上主比我們自己更了解我們。祂就如慈父，給予子女無限耐心，等待子女的成長。
- 經文中，耶穌一次又一次發出預言，卻換來猶太人的不信、嘲笑與逼害。祂早知道，自己面對死的日子近了，祂愛到最徹底，那怕面對的是一班不接納祂、設計要逼祂上刑場的人。
- 耶穌的愛、死而復活，正正是我們信仰的核心。唯有當我們願意把自己的生命投向祂，才得以完全進入信仰的領域。

福音訊息 (四旬期第三主日 - 乙年)
「你們拆毀這座聖殿，三天之內，我要把它重建起來。」(若2:19)
門徒在耶穌復活後，才明白耶穌所提的聖所，是指他的身體。
為猶太人，聖殿是天主臨在他們中間的標記。到今天，聖殿雖然被羅馬人於公元七十年破壞無遺，他們仍然在聖殿底部(哭牆)繼續祈禱。可見，在猷太人心中，沒有任何事物比聖殿更為重要。
耶穌把自己比作聖殿，對猷太人來說，其意義清楚不過。當然，連宗徒在內，他們的心目仍然是遲鈍的。
當耶穌從死者中復 活後，宗徒才對這「三天」恍然大悟。
耶穌復活後，要重建的，便是基督的奧體：教會。
耶穌答應派遣聖神，去重建基督奧體的工作：「當那一位真理之神來時，他要把你們引入一切真理。」(若16:13)
當然，聖神也需要我們的合作，才可以事半功倍。

Focolare Marks Anniversary of Founder
ROME, MARCH 13, 2009 (Zenit.org).- The Focolare Movement will be marking the one-year anniversary of the death of its founder Chiara Lubich this weekend with various events around the world.
Cardinal Paul Poupard, the former president of the Pontifical Council for Culture, will preside at a Mass in Rome to commemorate Lubich’s death, which took place last March 14. The service will be held at 11 am at the Basilica of St. Mary Major.
An Internet broadcast, titled “With Chiara — a Continuing Dialogue,” will be shown Saturday on http://live.focolare.org.
The program will be broadcast from the Centro Mariapoli in Castelgandolfo, with contributions from leading representatives of various Churches and civil society.
A high point will be the taped testimony of Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz on the relationship between Pope John Paul II and Lubich.
On Sunday, Bartholomew I, ecumenical patriarch of Constantinople, will deliver a commemorative speech after vespers in the Church of the Panagia, at the Belgrade Gate in Istanbul.
Earlier Sunday, a Mass said at the Maria Theotokos Shrine in Loppiano, Italy, will be broadcast live on RAI Uno. The presiding celebrant will be Bishop Luciano Giovannetti of Fiesole.
