WITH PRAYER AND  RENUNCIATION TOWARDS HOLINESS

“Dear children! In this time of grace, I call you anew to prayer and renunciation. May your day be interwoven with little ardent prayers for all those who have not come to know God’s love. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Message of February  25, 2008

Throughout almost 27 years of Our Lady’s apparitions, we have been the witnesses of her care for us, just as a true mother cares for her children. She finds each and everyone of us important. No one is excluded from her plan. She wants to bring all of us to her son Jesus Christ.

In her tonight’s message, Our Lady draws our attention to the dedication so characteristic of the time of Lent we are living right now. During Lent God gives us another chance to become better people, to start to change. We should be concrete as prayer is the encounter of a true and concrete man with the true and concrete God. We are  asked to become better as people in all areas of our lives. Our Lady provides us with the means that will help us in our fight – by  prayer and renunciation.

Jesus is our first teacher of prayer. When asked by his disciples to teach them how to pray, he taught them to pray Our Father. It is a prayer that must not turn into a mere pronunciation or repetition of words. It must be a true address to the Father for his kingdom to come. In the Father we have everything. The only thing we have to do is to listen attentively to what He says to us in prayer. Everything else will be just added to that. We should be persistent in our prayer, and open to God’s spirit which will provide us with strength when things happen in a different manner than we expect them to.

Together with Jesus, Our Lady is our first female teacher of prayer. Some wonder why Our Lady often mentions prayer and calls us to it.  Those wondering about that are people who do not pray, those who want to turn everything, even prayer, into sensation. These are the people not yet embraced by the spirit of the Gospel. They still feed on mundane spirituality. Our Lady calls us to prayer as she too has prayed and is aware of the importance of prayer more than we are. She prayed in all the crucial moments of her life: before the embodiment of her son Jesus Christ,  when Christ’s conception was announced, on the day of Pentecost when Church was born, the Body of Christ. At God’s offer from heaven she replies with her whole being and full of grace: «I am the Lord’s servant. May it be to me as you have said.» (Luke 1,38). That is why she stands before us as the example of deep faith and prayer.

Another important means of growth in our spiritual life is renunciation. Not for the sake of renunciation itself, but in order for us to create room in us where God can be at work. Every renunciation is a sign of spiritual growth. One should renounce first the thing other than God that one puts first in his life. This thing may be people, fame, power, money, human considerations, we ourselves or something else. God must be put first. Only then everything we have renounced is given its true sense.

Every day in this time of grace we are called to grow through our prayers by which we intercede for those who have not yet come to know God’s love. We are called to pray for the forsaken, lonely, unhappy, aborted, for the souls in Purgatory, for all those who are in need for prayer. May our Blessed Virgin Mary, the Queen of Peace, help us and bless our noble-minded effort.

ASIA/CHINA – New edition of the Roman Missal in Chinese with simplified characters, to better meet current pastoral demands

Shi Jia Zhuang (Agenzia Fides) – The editor Faith Press has published a new edition of the Roman Missal in simplified Chinese, with horizontal arrangement, in order to better meet the current needs of priests and faithful. According to the information published by the press, today the majority of the Chinese priests are young, having been formed in recent years, and find it difficult to use the traditional Chinese that is written vertically and will, therefore, find it much more useful for them to be able to use the Roman Missal in simplified Chinese, with horizontal arrangement. Furthermore, the document has been made with great care. It is well-bound with a reasonable price, and contains the additional Errata Corrige. The new edition of the Misal can be viewed on the Internet, along with other useful information on the subject. In addition, the Catholic publishing house encourages priests and faithful to offer their suggestions and look out for possible errors, for the printing of an improved second edition. 「如果我為我自己作證，我的證據不足憑信；但另有一位為我作證，我知道他為我作的證足以憑信。你們曾派人到若翰那裡去，他就為真理作過證。其實我並不需要人的證據，我提及這事，只是為叫你們得救。若翰好比是一盞點著而發亮的燈，你們只一時高興享受了他的光明。但我有比若翰更大的證據，即父所託付我要我完成的工程，就是我所行的這些工程，為我作證：證明是父派遣了我。派遣我來的父，親自為我作證；你們從未聽見過他的聲音，也從未看見過他的儀容，並且你們也沒有把他的話存留在心中，因為你們不相信他所派遣的那位。你們查考經典，因你們認為其中有永生，正是這些經典為我作證；但你們不願意到我這裡來，為獲得生命。
「我不求人的光榮；而且我認得你們，知道在你們內沒有天主的愛情。我因父的名而來，你們卻不接納我；如果有人因自己的名而來，你們反而接納他。你們既然彼此尋求光榮，而不尋求出於惟一天主的光榮，你們怎麼能相信我呢？不要想我要在父面前控告你們；有一位控告你們的，就是你們所寄望的梅瑟。若是你們相信梅瑟，必會相信我，因為他是指著我而寫的。如果你們不相信他所寫的，怎會相信我的話呢？」

默　想──Ø　他們的心內沒有天主的愛情，所以他們心硬。
Ø　擁有天主的愛情是怎樣的？如果大家也曾戀愛，深深地愛著一個人，不只是一份愛的感覺，其中還包括付出、犧牲、付託終身；雙向地也同時體會到對方的付出和犧牲。但人與人之間的愛畢竟是有限的、不完美的，因我們都是不完美的。這樣看，從上主而來的愛情，與人世間的愛可謂雲泥之別。
Ø　內心柔軟的人，皆因他領略到上主的寬容寬赦，我們一早已被祂所寵愛；因著祂的寵幸，我們才變得內心柔軟，可以承接人世間的不少痛苦。
Ø　一如自小生長在富有安全感、溫暖和愛的家的孩子，他們的自信心、承擔感、生命力都很強，足夠他面對人生的順和逆。

好多年以前，在沙漠裡，有一個村子。這個地方很少下雨，所以幾乎沒有什麼水。一但下起雨，人們都會紛紛拿著桶子，罐子到外面接水。
水對這裡的人們來說，比黃金還要珍貴。
不過，即使這地方很乾旱，人們卻從不缺水喝。因為村子附近住著一個大好人，他的名字叫托比，他有一口很深的井，裡頭清澈的水源源不絕。
村人都稱呼托比是「水主人」 ，而且都很愛他。因為他把他最寶貴的財產和村子裡的所有人分享。只要他們開口要水，水主人總是樂意地任他們到井裡取水。
「需要多少就拿多少吧，」他總是這麼說。
托比不只是自己很慷慨，他也叫他的兒子這樣做。他和他的兒子朱利安還會幫大家汲水，挑水。每天到這口井取水的人從不間斷。
托比總是笑著說：「需要多少就拿多少吧。」
他常常跟人們聊天，關心他們的生活。他會在朱利安幫人汲水時，跟他們一起談笑，詢問他們的願望和夢想。
托比是村人的好朋友。在他們有需要的時候，他隨時都會幫助他們。
有一天，水主人向村民宣布：「我和我兒子要離開這裡一段時間。我們不在的時候，我的僕人艾維會幫忙看守這口井。你們需要水時，找他就好了。」
交代完這件事之後，水主人就和他的兒子一起轉身，步上通往村外的那條路。
看著他們離開，村民都很難過。
但是他們相信艾維會提供他們所需要的。
果然，艾維完全遵照水主人的吩咐去做。
每天，村民來要水的時候，他都會熱心地幫他們裝水。他一面汲水，一面還會跟村民說： 「需要多少就拿多少吧。這裡的水絕對夠你們用。」
好長一段時間，這個村子就像往常一樣地運作著。
但是，有一天，艾維發現，這些村民拿到水時，一點都不感激。他們把水裝滿後，一句感謝的話也沒說就離開了。艾維心裡很不舒服。他決定不再把水給所有人。他忘記水主人對所有人的好意，相反地，他向村民宣布：「從現在開始，我只把水給懂得感謝的人。」
大家聽了都很驚訝。
不過，自從艾維宣布了新規定之後，所有的村民一取完水，都很努力地記得謝謝他。
一段時間過後，艾維又發現，有一些人對鄰居不友善，也不善待動物。因此，這個代理水主人又不高興了。他決定只把水給和善的人。「只要是不善待動物，或對鄰居不友善的人，就拿不到水。」他宣布。
村民因為擔心喝不到水，都很努力地討好艾維。但是，這個專出難題的人，卻不斷地挑村民的毛病。「你太忙了」，「你太懶了」，「你動作不夠快」，「不夠敏捷」，或「不夠漂亮」 ，他每立一個條件，拿到水的人就更少了。
隨著時間過去，村民都開始難過起來，並且很生氣。「我們怎麼可能完全達到艾維的標準呢? 」他們質疑。
「我們一定會渴死。」他們大喊。
艾維的規定越來越多，排隊要水的人就越來越少。大家開始感到口渴，但也都不得不放棄。
「沒有用的，」村民吶喊著： 「我們永遠都沒辦法讓你滿意。」
在眾人的喊叫聲中，一個身影安靜地走向群眾。
艾維心存懷疑地看著那個人，並大喊說：「你八成也是來要水的吧。你有資格來要水嗎? 」 那個人沒有說話。他慢慢地走到井
邊，轉身面向所有村民，說：「我
是來幫助你們的。」
艾維聽了很生氣，他說：「你以為
你是誰啊? 」
那個人拿下他的頭巾。
所有村民都驚訝地張大嘴巴。
當他們看見這個面貌熟悉的人時，開始議論紛紛。
「我是朱利安，是水主人的兒子。我父親要我來，把水分給所有的人。」
當他說完這句話，所有的村民都高興地歡呼。艾維卻害怕了起來。
村民們很想報復艾維。他們大叫： 「不要給艾維半滴水。」
水主人的兒子卻高舉起手，要大家安靜。
他說：「我父親的水是給大家的。」
「但是艾維對我們很壞。」
「我知道，但是，如果我只把水給好人，有人喝得到嗎? 」
沒有人敢說話。
水主人的兒子把手按在艾維肩上。
他對艾維說： 「白白得來的，就白白地給吧。」
村民你看我，我看你的，不說一句話。
他們知道，水主人兒子的話很真實，而且存著智慧。
就這樣，從那天開始，大家原諒了艾維，而且一起自由地分享井裡的水。

為瑪利亞無玷聖心凱旋的勝利作奉獻準備 – 三十三天祈禱奉獻
33 Days Prayer Consecration Preparation for the Triumphant Victory of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

訊息：

「我的天使，天父要求你們作奉獻時，一定要重視我這無玷聖心的敬禮。為此，我要求你們每天誦唸玫瑰經，善用五個首星期六這個恩典，並把你們的祈求和生活上的需要都交給我，我會把它們全部帶到天父跟前。為了愛我，做這些事情吧，你們要知道，我為了愛你們而獻上一切。

親愛的天使，你們要這樣開始每一天：

啊！瑪利亞，請轉化我的心靈，
讓我的心成為妳的心。
請把一個點綴著義德的純潔花環，
圍繞在我的心上。
親愛的母親，
請收納我的心，把它當作妳自己的心來奉獻，
請把我的心當作我給妳的奉獻，呈獻給天主大父。
啊！瑪利亞，
請助我每日每天都能令更多人認識妳的心。93-3-19

引導：

為了聖母瑪利亞的勝利，作這個奉獻是必須的。她的勝利將會把信眾提升到一個成全的境界；要讓耶穌聖心為王，這是必須的；聖母的勝利與耶穌聖心為王，共同完成贖世和協同贖世的計劃––兩個聖心的契合。

從奉獻開始，一直到得勝，聖母瑪利亞將會帶領著我們，這個勝利將為耶穌聖心為王奠下基礎。在兩個聖心之內，含藏著天主的一個計劃，就是把贖世和協同贖世的恩寵賜給世界。

指示：

我們向天主之母交出一顆心時，不要心存幻想，以為不需要付出任何代價。她要求作我們的母親，而我們要成為她的兒女，但這是有條件的。首先，必須真心渴望修補我們的生活，拒絕一切帶著罪性的、邪惡的及世俗的事物。第二，必須把我們的心靈、思想和掛慮交託給她。第三，必須盡力帶領其他人來愛慕她的無玷聖心。最後，我們要長留她的膝下，縈繞不離，還要不斷感謝上主把自己的母親賞賜了給我們。

默想：

啊，瑪利亞無玷之心！請為我祈求一個純潔的靈魂，因為無論妳求什麼，都得到應允。啊，瑪利亞，我把靈魂交在妳母性的手中，請妳照顧，請為我求取一份充滿聖寵的毅力。我在奉獻中所遭受的一切誘惑和失落永生的危機，都求妳救助我。在臨終時，請把我的靈魂交託在天父的手中。為了贏取妳的勝利，我一心一意相信妳，信賴妳，並對妳充滿信心。
