恭讀聖若望福音 1:1-18
在起初已有聖言：聖言與天主同在，聖言就是天主。聖言在起初就與天主同在。萬物是藉著他而造成的。凡受造的，沒有一樣不是由他而造成的。在他內有生命，這生命是人的光。光在黑暗中照耀，黑暗決不能勝過它。
曾有一人，是由天主派遣來的，名叫若翰。這人來，是為作證，為給光作證，為使眾人藉他而信。他不是那光，而是為給那光作證。
那普照每人的真光，正在進入世界；他已在世界上，世界原是藉他造成的；但世界卻不認識他。他來到了自己的領域，自己的人卻沒有接受他。但是，凡接受他的，他給他們，即給那些信他名字的人權能，好成為天主的子女。他們不是由血氣，也不是由肉慾，也不是由男慾，而是由天主生的。於是，聖這成了血肉，寄居在我們中間；我們見了他的光榮，正如父獨生者的光榮，滿溢恩寵和真理。若翰為他作證呼喊說：「這就是我所說的，那在我以後來的，成了在我以前的，因他原先我而有。」從他的滿盈中，我們都領受了恩寵，而且恩寵上加恩寵。因為法律是藉梅瑟傳授的，恩寵和真理卻是由耶穌基督而來的。從來沒有人見過天主，只有那在父懷裡的獨生子，身為天主的，他給我們詳述了。

A Reading from the Gospel of John 1:1-18
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came to be through him, and without him nothing came to be.
What came to be through him was life, and this life was the light of the human race; the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
A man named John was sent from God. He came for testimony, to testify to the light, so that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but came to testify to the light. The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world.
He was in the world, and the world came to be through him, but the world did not know him.
He came to what was his own, but his own people did not accept him.
But to those who did accept him he gave power to become children of God, to those who believe in his name, who were born not by natural generation nor by human choice nor by a man’s decision but of God.
And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we saw his glory, the glory as of the Father’s only-begotten Son, full of grace and truth.
John testified to him and cried out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘The one who is coming after me ranks ahead of me because he existed before me.’” From his fullness we have all received, grace in place of grace, because while the law was given through Moses,
grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. The only-begotten Son, God, who is at the Father’s side, has revealed him.

默 想──Ø 聖言成了血肉，是天主教一個十分重要的思想。試想想，一個無形無像的造物者，竟成為有血有肉的人，是多麼令人驚奇，基督為什麼要這樣呢？
Ø 是為了拯救我們？當然是，但怎樣拯救？是成了血肉，給我們示範一個回歸父家的過程，當我們看見這過程，也願意學習，這便得救了。
Ø 這就是說，聖言成了血肉，使得我們可以從血肉成為聖言。怎樣做？就是讓基督進入我們的心，和祂成為一體，我們便可發現聖經所說的我在你內，你在我內，我們每人都在宇宙的大聯合中。

賢士們離去後，看，上主的天使托夢顯現於若瑟說：「起來，帶著嬰孩和他的母親逃往埃及，住在那裡，直到我再通知你，因為黑落德即將尋找這嬰孩，要把他殺掉。」若瑟便起來，星夜帶了嬰孩和他的母親，退避到埃及去。留在那裡，直到黑落德死去。這就應驗了上主藉先知所說的話：「我從埃及召回了我的兒子。」
黑落德死後，看，上主的天使在埃及托夢顯現於若瑟，說：「起來，帶著孩子和他的母親，往以色列去，因為那些謀殺孩子性命的人死了。」他便起來，帶了孩子和他的母親，進了以色列地域；但是一聽說阿爾赫勞繼他父親黑落德作了猶太王，就害怕到那裡去；夢中得了指示後，便退避到加里肋亞境內，去住在一座名叫納匝肋的城中，如此應驗了先知們所說的話：「他將稱為納匝肋人。」

He went and dwelt in a town called Nazareth, so that what had been spoken through the prophets might be fulfilled, He shall be called a Nazorean.

When the magi had departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you.
Herod is going to search for the child to destroy him.” Joseph rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed for Egypt. He stayed there until the death of Herod, that what the Lord had said through the prophet might be fulfilled, Out of Egypt I called my son.

MESSAGE OF HIS HOLINESS - POPE BENEDICT XVI FOR THE CELEBRATION OF THE WORLD DAY OF PEACE - 1 JANUARY 2008
THE HUMAN FAMILY, A COMMUNITY OF PEACE
1. At the beginning of a New Year, I wish to send my fervent good wishes for peace, together with a heartfelt message of hope to men and women throughout the world. I do so by offering for our common reflection the theme which I have placed at the beginning of this message. It is one which I consider particularly important: the human family, a community of peace. The first form of communion between persons is that born of the love of a man and a woman who decide to enter a stable union in order to build together a new family. But the peoples of the earth, too, are called to build relationships of solidarity and cooperation among themselves, as befits members of the one human family: “All peoples”—as the Second Vatican Council declared—“are one community and have one origin, because God caused the whole human race to dwell on the face of the earth (cf. Acts 17:26); they also have one final end, God”.
The family, society and peace
2. The natural family, as an intimate communion of life and love, based on marriage between a man and a woman, constitutes “the primary place of ‘humanization’ for the person and society”, and a “cradle of life and love”. The family is therefore rightly defined as the first natural society, “a divine institution that stands at the foundation of life of the human person as the prototype of every social order”.
3. Indeed, in a healthy family life we experience some of the fundamental elements of peace: justice and love between brothers and sisters, the role of authority expressed by parents, loving concern for the members who are weaker because of youth, sickness or old age, mutual help in the necessities of life, readiness to accept others and, if necessary, to forgive them….. 神父片語 - 聖家節 (2007年12月30日)
由教宗保祿六世於一九六八年所推行的「世界和平日」(World Day of Peace)，已踏上了第四十個年頭。教宗本篤十六世於十二月八日，發表「二零零八年世界和平日」通函。其主題為：「人類大家庭，和平的團體」(The Human Family, A Community of Peace)。
教宗指出：每一家庭是社會和諧的根源。父母對子女的身教是絕對需要的。只有和諧的家庭才能產生和諧的子女。社會的責任便是提供每一家庭有足夠的資源，即在居住、就業、醫療、教育等方面得到保障。
為了下一代，不能忽視環保的重要性。富裕的國家不應剝削貧窮國家的資源，因為我們同是大地的兒女。
享受商業帶來物質繁榮之餘，我們亦應提高靈性上及道德上的價值觀。法律亦應保障自然律所賦予人類的權利。同時，國家的權力不應超越神律。
國際上，當務之急便是停止一切核武競爭，推動在非洲、中東及世界各地的和平運程。
教宗以上的文告，給我們開放了視野，讓我們一方面重視家庭的團結，也提示我們放眼世界的重要性。

福音訊息 - 聖家節 (2007年12月30日)
「起來，帶著嬰孩和他的母親逃往埃及‥‥起來，帶著孩子和他的母親，往以色列去。」(瑪2: 13-20)
「起來」表示若瑟要從睡夢中起來，立刻行事，因為時辰到了。這時辰當然是天主所預定的時刻。耶穌也常常用「我的時辰還未到」或「我的時辰到了」去表示出對聖父旨意的尊重。不過，天父的旨意也配合人的需要。耶穌所行的第一個聖蹟：「變水為酒」，便是最好的例子。
人類的「原罪」是在於把自己的慾望放在天主旨意之上。「天主給人下令說：『樂園中各樹上的果子，你都可吃，只有知善惡樹上的果子你不可吃。』」(創2: 16) 這命令目的無非要求人類要約制自己的自由意志，去遵從造物主的意願。人類所受的誘惑便是不甘心這樣約束自己。因為「蛇對女人說：『你們決不會死！因為天主知道，你們那天吃了這果子，你們的眼就會開了，將如同天主一樣知道善惡。』」(創3: 5) 聖家便要給人類立下好的榜樣。天使預報救主誕生時，瑪利亞說：「看！上主的婢女，願照你的話，成就於我罷！」(路1: 38)
讓我們學習細聽天主在我們內心的聲音，也付出勇氣，「立刻起來」，承行天主的聖意。

每日聖言靜思 (聖誕期第五日) - 12月29日 (週六)

按梅瑟的法律，一滿了他們取潔的日期，瑪利亞和若瑟便帶著孩子上耶路撒冷去獻給上
主，就如上主的法律上所記載的：「凡開始首生的男性，應祝聖於上主。」並該照上主法律上所吩咐的，獻上祭物：一對斑鳩或兩隻雛鴿。那時，在耶路撒冷有一個人，名叫西默盎。這人正義虔誠，期待著以色列的安慰，而且聖神也在他身上。他曾蒙聖神啟示：自己在未看見上主的受傅者以前，決見不到死亡。他因聖神的感動，進了聖殿；那時，抱著嬰孩耶穌的父母正進來，要按著法律的慣例為他行禮。西默盎就雙臂接過他來，讚美天主說：「主啊！現在可照你的話，放你的僕人平安去了！因為我親眼看見了你的救援，即你在萬民之前早預備好的：為作啟示異邦的光明，你百姓以色列的榮耀。」
他的父親和母親就驚異他關於耶穌所說的這些話。西默盎祝福了他們，又向他的母親瑪利亞說：「看，這孩子已被立定，為使以色列中許多人跌倒和復起，並成為反對的記號——至於你，要有一把利劍刺透你的心靈——為叫許多人心中的思念顯露出來。」
默 想──Ø 西默盎的讚嘆，正是一種完備的等待和預備的精神，他望見救主到來，望得頸項也長了，終於終於給他等到了，他遂欣然地、釋然地、祥和地甘願平安離世。
Ø 他有一份很大的信德，在見到聖子嬰孩時，「一看見就相信了」此嬰孩正是上主的救援。
Ø 西默盎給聖母瑪利亞說的那刺透她心靈的劍，有分別為聖的意思，不只是在說那劍會令聖母心碎。耶穌的到來以致日後的徹底犧牲救贖，是把我們每一個都聖化了。
Ø 際此救主降生的時候，我們獲得聖化了嗎？

WHY GOD ALLOWS PAIN
This is one of the best explanations of why God allows pain and suffering that I have seen…
A man went to a barber shop to have his hair and his beard cut as always. He started to have a good conversation with the barber who attended him. They talked about so many things and various subjects. Suddenly, they touched the subject of GOD.
The barber said : “Look man, I don’t believe that GOD exists as you say so.”
“Why do you say that?” Asked the client.
”Well, it’s so easy, you just have to go out in the street to realize that GOD does not exist. Oh, tell me, if GOD existed, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If GOD existed, there would be no suffering nor pain. I can’t think of a GOD who permits all of these things.”
The client stopped for a moment thinking but he didn’t want to respond so as to prevent an argument. The barber finished his job and the client went out of the shop. Just after he left the barber-parlour he saw a man in the street with a long hair and beard (it seems that it had been a long time since he had his cut and he looked so untidy). Then the client again entered the barber-parlour and he said to the barber : ” Know what? Barbers do not exist.”
“How come they don’t exist?”-asked the barber. “Well I am here and I am a barber.”
“No!” - the client exclaimed. “They don’t exist because if they did there would be no people with long hair and beard like that man who walks in the street.”
“Ah, barbers do exist, what happens is that people do not come to me.”
“Exactly!”- affirmed the client.”That’s the point. GOD does exist, what happens is people don’t go to Him and do not look for Him that’ s why there’s so much pain and suffering in the world.”

那時，黑落德見自己受了賢士們的愚弄，就大發忿怒，依照他由賢士們所探得的時期，差人將白冷及其周圍境內所有兩歲及兩歲以下的嬰兒殺死，於是應驗了耶肋米亞先知所說的話：「在辣瑪聽到了聲音，痛哭哀號不止；辣黑耳痛哭她的子女，不願受人的安慰，因為他們不在了。」

Then was fulfilled what had been said through Jeremiah the prophet: A voice was heard in Ramah, sobbing and loud lamentation; Rachel weeping for her children, and she would not be consoled, since they were no more.
