“For I say to you, many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, but did not see it, and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it.” (Luke 10:24) It was a blessing to be able to live with Jesus. It was even a greater blessing to be able to recognize Jesus is the messiah. It was because Peter recognized that Jesus is the messiah that he received such a commendation from Jesus : “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.” (Matthew 16:17) Today, we are blessed even more. Please listen to what Jesus said to Thomas : “Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.” (John 20:29) It is only when we follow the Holy Spirit’s guidance continuously that we can keep our faith. Just a moment of inattention will easily lead us falling into the trap of human way of thinking. Peter was scolded by Jesus because he tried to stop Jesus from going to Jerusalem : “Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle to me. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do.” We are for sure more blessed than the prophets and the kings because we can listen to God’s words and receive Christ’s holy body and blood. We should not forget that the more blessings we receive, the more requests God will have from us. We should always be thankful and fulfill the mission God have given us.
