“For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. (Lk 1:44) Blessed was John, who were already granted his blessings indirectly from Jesus when He's still in mother Mary's womb. Please listen to Zechariah his father, prophesied the Lord by saying: "Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, for he has visited and brought redemption to his people. He has raised up a horn for our salvation within the house of David his servant, even as he promised through the mouth of his holy prophets from of old: salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us to show mercy to our fathers and to be mindful of his holy covenant and of the oath he swore to Abraham our father, and to grant us thatrescued from the hand of enemies, without fear we might worship him in holiness and righteousness before him all our days. And you, child, will be called prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways to give his people knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God by which the daybreak from on high will visit us to shine on those who sit in darkness and death's shadow, to guide our feet into the path of peace." (Lk 1:68-79) Now please listen to Jesus' remarks for John: "What did you go out to the desert to see--a reed swayed by the wind? Then what did you go out to see? Someone dressed in fine garments? Those who dress luxuriously and live sumptuously are found in royal palaces. Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. This is the one about whom scripture says: 'Behold, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, he will prepare your way before you.' I tell you, among those born of women, no one is greater than John; yet the least in the kingdom of God is greater than he." (Lk 7:24-28) John had humbly lived out God's mission for him, he had not took for granted the blessings he had received from Jesus when he was still in Mary's womb. Didn't God had loved us before we were even born?
