“At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd.” (Matthew 9:36) People are suffering and displaced because they do not have the chance to hear Jesus’ voice, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 4:17) “This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:15) Peter, Andrew, James and John became the first group of disciples called by Jesus, He said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Mark 1:17) Later, Jesus chose His twelve apostles and said to them, “As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons. Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give.” (Matthew 10 7-8) At the same time, Jesus asked them to give out a heart of absolute trust in Him, “If any one comes to me without hating his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.” (Luke 14:26-27) To spread the message of the Gospel, we must first practice and become another Christ ourselves! The sheep can only hear the voice of their own shepherd.
