“Your Father who sees what is hidden will repay you.” (Matthew 6:18) Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the desert. (See Luke 4:1) Before starting His missionary work, Jesus spent forty days and nights alone in the wilderness with the Heavenly Father. Jesus went up the mountain and prayed throughout the night before choosing his twelve disciples. He prayed in the wilderness and remained alone with the Heavenly Father. After the miracle of feeding five thousand with five loaves and two fishes, Jesus went up the mountain and prayed alone. Jesus and his disciples prayed at the Gethsemane after the Passover supper. He invited three of his beloved disciples to pray with Him but they all fell asleep. Yet, Jesus still stayed alone to pray. The purpose of Prayer is to allow our hearts and soul be fully converted to God’s will. Praying will reduce the voice of temptation and increase our trust to the mercy of Jesus. It is important to learn not to mind others criticism, but to enter the inner part of our hearts, to maintain the friendly interflow and hearts linked relationship with God. “Seek first the kingdom (of God) and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides.” (Matthew 6:33)
