“Peace be with you. As the Father sent me, so I sent you.” (John 20: 21) The Father sent the Word to live among us, hoping to reignite His great love to us through the Word. Man has abandoned God through his original sin. Though man has been driven out of the Paradise, God has not forsaken him. The biblical apologists call Genesis 3: 15 Proto-evangelium (the First Gospel): “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; He will strike at your head, while you strike at his heel.” God used these unfathomable words to predict that one day man will be victorious over the devil, and there will be a Saviour who will be our leader. The blessing of Noah (Genesis 9: 26 revealed that the blessing of all mankind came from the family of Shem. God promised to Abraham (an offspring of Shem): “All the communities of the earth shall find blessing in you.” (Genesis 12: 3 ) This shows that God has not forsaken mankind. Prophet Isaiah indicated that the Messiah (the anointed one) would be a king, a prophet, a martyr. All these identities were fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Jesus said, ‘As the Father sent me, so I send you.’ That is to say, we are sent to fulfill the duties as kings (to overcome sins); the duties of prophets (to witness the truth); the duties of priests (to serve the Lord).
