And after I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to myself, so that you will be where I am.”(John 14: 3) Prior to that, Jesus said, “There are many rooms in my Father’s house, and I am going to prepare a place for you.” He also said, “When I go, you will not be left all alone.” After His birth, Jesus’ life has been closely connected to ours. “I am the vine, and you are the branches. Whoever remains in me, and I in him, will bear much fruit.” No wonder why St. Paul said, “…so that it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me.” The name ‘Christians’ started from St. Paul’s first missionary station: Antioch. Since the Pentecost, the disciples had communed with each other in accordance with the teaching of Jesus. “The group of believers was one in mind and heart. No one said that any of his belongings was his own, but they all shared with one another everything they had.” (Acts 4: 32) The present way of the life of the Church becomes the standard of the future way of the life in the Kingdom of God. Jesus prayed for this, “Father! May they be in us, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they be one, so that the world will believe that you sent me.” ( John 17: 21 ) We thank Our Lord Jesus who always puts us in His heart. I hope his cry “I thirst” on the cross will touch our heart. He is so eager to stay with us forever.
