“For God did not send his Son into the world to be its judge, but to be its saviour.” (John 3: 17) What a heartening message it is! What Jesus has bestowed on mankind is the new life in the Trinity. However, John made this supplementary comment, ‘The light has come into the world, but people love the darkness rather than the light!’ Simeon predicted, ‘Look, this child is chosen by God for the destruction and the salvation of many in Israel, he will be a sign from God which many people will speak against.’ Salvation comes from Jesus’ blood. The grace from God is fruitless for us if we do not reciprocate His love. Judas Iscariot is a good example. God will never abandon sinners who repent. Jesus said, ‘People can be forgiven any sin and any evil thing they say; but whoever says evil things against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.’ It means: Those who do not believe in the mercy of God have refused themselves God’s grace. “I am writing this to you, my children, so that you will not sin; but if anyone does sin, we have someone who pleads with the Father on our behalf – Jesus Christ, the righteous one.” (1 John 2: 1) “This is what love is: it is not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the means by which our sins are forgiven.” (1 John 4: 10)
