"How could this happen?" (John 3:9) Nicodemus asked the question, “How could this happen?” During the Annunciation, Mary also asked the angel exactly the same question, “How could this happen?” The angel’s reply to Mary, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.” Jesus had said to Nicodemus, “No one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.” In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit represents the power of God, In the New Testament, the Gospel of John and Revelation inparticular, clearly states that the Holy Spirit forms part of the Holy Trinity with its unique position as Holy Father & Son as One. “The Advocate, the Holy Spirit that the Father will send in my name--he will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you.” (John 14:26) “Whoever has ears ought to hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” (Revelation 2:7) “The church throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria was at peace. It was being built up and walked in the fear of the Lord, and with the consolation of the Holy Spirit it grew in numbers.” (Acts 9:31) Let us learn from our Holy Mother to keep God’s words in our hearts and pray for the Holy Spirit to come upon us while illuminating our hearts, so that we can always understand God’s Will!
