On 28th of September, our parish’s scout group, the 2nd Tsuen Wan Group, celebrated its 20th anniversary. One of the guests of honour was Fr. Francesco Conte, the founding pastor of the Church of the Annunciation and founding spiritual advisor of the 2nd Tsuen Wan Group. Beginning with just six members, there are now more than 200 members in the scout group; this is a testimony to the insight of Fr. Conte and the hard work of the scout leaders.

On the same day, a new Legion of Mary presidium, geared specifically for adults, was founded; weekly meetings are on Wednesdays at 8:00pm. All parishioners 18 and above are welcome.

The “Provisional Parish Council” also had their first meeting on 26th of September. We chose to use the word “Provisional” to highlight the fact that its officers were appointed, and their terms of office will be one year. During this first year, they will be responsible not only for matters the parish assigns them for follow-up, but also for the election of officers for the permanent “Parish Council”.

See you in my new column, “To Make a Long Story Short”, on my parish’s web site!
