“And indeed, we have been condemned justly; for the sentence we received corresponds to our crimes....… Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” (Luke 23:41, 42) He replied to him, "Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise." We can see that whenever we call out to Jesus with admission of our inadequacies, what is returned to us is beyond our wildest imaginations. Even though this criminal was sinful all his life, a few words from his conscience were enough to move Jesus, the merciful one. And as soon as Peter told Jesus “Lord, you know that I love you,” Jesus was contented and said to him, “Feed my sheep.” So our repentance and Jesus Christ’s mercy become our pair of legs to walk the journey of holiness. That is why Our Lady of Medjugorje gave us a message to receive the sacrament of reconciliation often. She had even invited her children to confess at least monthly. And it is for the same reason that Jesus taught Sister Faustina to pray often with the words “Lord Jesus, merciful king, I trust in You!”
