“If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.” – Luke 16: 31 With the dialogue of the rich man and Abraham, Jesus pointed out that if a person does not obey the messenger through whom the Holy Spirit spoke, the person would not pay attention to the enlightenment of any supernatural phenomenon. Jesus explicitly pointed out to us: Humans are hard-hearted.. In Old Testament times, God spoke to people through prophets. In New Testament times, God did not only speak to people through His Son, He also spoke through the Church. Jesus said to His apostles, “Those who obey you, will obey me!” Therefore, obeying the teachings of the Church is also important. Jesus just wanted us to obey his teachings humbly. “Blessed are the poor in spirit!” Jesus taught Sr. Faustina a prayer: “Jesus, I trust in You!” As you can see, this is a very appropriate prayer. It is not impossible for a miracle to convince us, but this is not a method God uses habitually. God asks us to continually trust in His merciful love particularly in tough situations.
