“Anger and wrath, these also are abominations, yet a sinner holds on to them.” (Sirah 27: 33) Jesus said, "Blessed are the poor in spirit.” Poor in spirit refers to the inner heart of the person, to accept God. All other people, land or things are companions and tools for us to walk towards God. When we are resentful and angry with others, we are setting ourselves in an important position, and at the same time, we forget that we are also children of God, and we are brothers and sisters of each other. “Resentment and anger” are part of a person’s sentiments, but when we “hold on” to them, they become sin. When Peter asked Jesus whether it is enough to forgive others seven times, Jesus said to him, “not seven times, but seventy-seven times”, meaning unlimited times. As we can see, “love” always contains & forgives.
