In addition to Fr. Gabriel Liu and Fr. Joseph Ng, who both serve in the pastoral team of Annunciation Church, Deacon Yung and Sr. Alice Yuen are also part of the pastoral team.

Here, I would like to especially draw your attention to Fr. Gabriel Liu.

Fr. Liu was ordained in 1971. Before he entered the Hong Kong Diocese, he was in Marist Brothers of the Schools, and was once a Superior of this congregation. From 1972 to 1992 he was the parish priest of SS. Cosmas and Damian Church in Tsuen Wan, and from 1992 to 2001 he was the parish priest of St. Stephen’s Church in Lower Kwai Chung. During these 30 years, he was also the Supervisor of 17 schools in the diocese.

Besides Fr. Liu’s involvement in the education field, he also contributes greatly to the establishment of St. Stephen’s Church located in Kwai Fong in 1980, St. John The Apostle Church located in Shek Lei in 1988, Annunciation Church located in Chai Wan Kok in 1992 and St. Thomas the Apostle Church located in Tsing Yi in 1993.

Today, Fr. Liu is eighty-one years old and every morning at 6:45 a.m, he says Mass for the parishioners, as well as being a spiritual director to many groups in the parish. He has set a good example to the young priests for what he has done.

He has written a booklet named, “Trivial Matters in the Secular World”. Inside it he expressed how he admires the deceased Bishop Francis Hsu, because the Bishop respected and trusted him very much.
