'Campaign Life' Dinner Party

The 2nd ‘Campaign Life’ Dinner Party organized by the Pro-life Group of our parish will be held in the Don Bosco Hall on Saturday, April 23, at 7:30pm. Before the dinner, mass will be celebrated at 6:00pm with Fr. Ted Colleton as co-celebrant. Fr. Ted has been actively working for pro-life causes for the past 30 years in Toronto. He was jailed several times due to ‘anti-abortion’ actions. He can be considered as a ‘Pro-life warrior’ among the clergy.

There will be two speakers during the dinner party. One of the speakers is Jim Hughes who is the president of ‘Campaign Life Coalition Canada’. In 1978, he gave up a prosperous business which he had been running for 10 years and devoted all his time to promoting for the Pro-life’ causes. He especially encouraged politicians to join the ‘Pro-life’ ranks. He is also an active member of knight of Columbus.

The other speaker is Angelina Steenstra. She is a social worker specializing in helping developmentally challenged people. In 1991, she and her husband, Walter and Father Vince Heffernan established an organization especially people who have undergone abortions. The organization is called ‘Second Chance Ministry’ (reminding members: never again) The theme of her talk is ‘Abortion and Its Aftermath’. She will use her personal experience together with psychological, physical and spiritual viewpoints to bring out the impact of abortion both on men and on women. Her speech will be grounded in hope, joy, reconciliation and healing.

I sincerely invite all of you to join the ‘Pro-Life’ movement.
