Mutuality is what makes a family amazing. Take the Holy Family as an example: although Joseph was the head of the family, he treated the Blessed Virgin Mary with immense respect, since she conceived Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit. Of course, Joseph held the same respect for little Jesus. Consequently, Mary and little Jesus willingly obeyed Joseph. A leader of either a family, or of a church organization, should not be authoritative. Instead, a leader functions to coordinate the inspirations that the Holy Spirit has instilled in everyone. Relying on authority alone renders one deaf to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Thus, besides listening carefully to the voice of the Holy Spirit within ourselves, we should also learn to be attentive to people's opinions. Let us all humbly listen to each other!
