“As you have believed, so let it be.” (Matthew 9:29)

“Son of David, help us!”

“Do you believe that I am able to do what you want?"

“Yes, sir!”

“As you have believed, so let it be.”

The above conversations are dialogues between Jesus and two blind men.

Compared with the people who can see these two blind men can actually “see” more clearly and pure. They proclaimed that Jesus is the Son of David – the Messiah, Israel’s long-awaited savior. On the other hand the Scribes claimed that Jesus used the devil’s power to exorcise people. The two addresses are big difference! The Scribes said this with their eyes closed to the truth due to jealousy! “Do you believe that I am able to do what you want?" This is not a question, but Jesus hoped that these two blind men can affirm their faith. Their reply is undoubtedly as they said, “Yes, sir!”

Even though our religious life is full of diversity, but on the whole when we face the truth we need to “Say yes when you mean yes and say no when you mean no.” (Matthew 5:37)

At last Jesus said, “As you have believed, so let it be.”

St. Paul used the same positive words to comfort the people of Thessalonians: “We always give thanks to God. When we brought you God’s message, you heard it and accepted it, not as a message from human beings but as God’s message, which indeed it is. For God is at work in you who believe.” (1 Thessalonians 2:13)
