“Everything that the Father has is mine;” (John 16:15) “Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own. The Father who dwells in me is doing his works.” (John 14:10) Bosco Bible Dictionary states: “John’s introduction commented on the recording of Genesis 1 from the very beginning. In Genesis 1, the author described how God through his almighty Word, created all things; in Genesis 1 the holy scripture indicated God through his Word who was born as a man, renewed, replenished, and made holy all things, especially man; in actual sense, the first creation in Genesis and the second creation in John complements each other, reflects one another. In the two creations, according to a saying of Arius, it seemed that God used his two hands: ‘Word’ and ‘Holy Spirit’ to create all things.” (no. 721) When Jesus said: “I am the true vine” (John 15:1), we also share God the Father’s life in him because we are his branches. In the same way, we also share the Son’s mission: To let the world know the love of God the Father. Therefore, Jesus said: “….because the words you gave to me I have given to them, and they accepted them and truly understood that I came from you, and they have believed that you sent me.” (John 17:8) There is only one wish that Jesus intended us to do and that is to be “one in Him”. When we voluntarily follow God’s will, we are already living inside the life of God.
