“We will come to him and make our dwelling with him.” (John 14:23) Jesus pointed out that when we are willing to listen to the Word of God and implement His Holy Will, God will dwell in our hearts. The kingdom of God will be in our midst. When a scribe said to Jesus: "Well said, teacher. You are right in saying, 'He is One and there is no other than he.' And 'to love him with all your heart, with all your understanding, with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself' is worth more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices." Then Jesus replied, "You are not far from the kingdom of God."” (Mark 12:32-34) The kingdom of God is “love” and this “love” is revealed completely from the cross of Christ. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.” (John 3:16) The teachings of Moses allows an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, (the intention is to remind the elders to be fair at the sentencing stage. “I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another.” (John 13:34) When we are living in mutual love of sentiment, the kingdom of God is close at hand.
