“Because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you.” (John 15:19) Jesus explained it clearly, “If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first.” (John 15:18) Why does the world hate Jesus? It is because the world does not belong entirely to God. Listen to the parable of the wheat and weed by Jesus, “The kingdom of heaven may be likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field. While everyone was asleep his enemy came and sowed weeds all through the wheat, and then went off.” (Matthew 13:24-25) Ever since the beginning of the world, the original gospel had already written about evil angels and humankind swearing not to co-exist under the same heaven, “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; He will strike at your head, while you strike at his heel.” (Genesis 3:15) Victory belongs to God all the time, but it is inevitable that opponents exist everywhere. Therefore Jesus made it clear, “Do you think that I have come to establish peace on the earth? No, I tell you, but rather division. From now on a household of five will be divided, three against two and two against three; a father will be divided against his son and a son against his father, a mother against her daughter and a daughter against her mother, a mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.” (Luke 15:51-53) In today's world seems to never have any days of peace. However, Jesus emphasized, “Upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18) The question is: we need patience and immovable faith in the Lord.
