“The Lord’s Supper” Many people call this “The Last Supper”, because it was the last supper before Jesus accepted his crucifixion. During “The Last Supper”, Jesus established the Sacraments of “Holy Orders” and the “Holy Eucharist”. What purpose did it serve? Let the heavenly kingdom be present in the world and be able to carry on. It is simple as that. Jesus promised his disciples, “I will be with you till the end of the world.” For this reason, He left the Holy Eucharist to stay in the human world forever. The Holy Eucharist is not only an external sign of God’s love, it is actually the presence of Jesus among us. Jesus is present in His Holy Words, in communities with mutual love, among ministry groups and particularly in the Holy Eucharist. “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.” (John 6:53) Jesus is willing to see us becomes part of his flesh. One time, Jesus said to St. Fautina, “When people come to receive the communion, I am willing to give out all the graces to the soul. Unfortunately, most of them take it lightly and treat me as a dead object.” Jesus is anxious to rest in the deepest part of our soul. However can He not find a suitable place to rest? Are we willing to open our heart and let Him take a rest?
