“Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been looking for you with great anxiety.” (Luke 2:48) Some people say that Joseph being a father does not pose a problem to families, because his wife is immaculate and his son is the Son of God. A wise man replied, as a husband who saw his wife conceive a child before marriage and his son running away from home when he was twelve. “What thoughts do you have?” As recorded in the Gospel, we can see that Joseph passively matched up the holy will of God: An angel instructed him to accept Mary as his wife and to go forth to Bethlehem to register their residence, and escape from Egypt etc. In addition, the birth of Jesus, the presentation of Jesus in the Temple and finding the 12 year old Jesus in the Temple etc, Joseph remained in silence all the time. If Joseph did not possess an astonishing trust towards God, he probably could not live out his life in such a charitable way. We will be unable to accomplish the mission that God has prepared for us, if there is a lack of fear and respect towards Him.
