“How much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask him.” (Matthew 7:11) The good things mentioned here by Jesus, refers to things which benefits our soul. It also explains that not everything we ask is good for us. The Gospel of Luke added, “If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?” (Luke 11:13) From here we can see heavenly Father gives us the best gift is the Holy Spirit. Let us listen to Jesus’ teaching about the Holy Spirit. “When they take you before synagogues and before rulers and authorities, do not worry about how or what your defense will be or about what you are to say. For the holy Spirit will teach you at that moment what you should say.” (Luke 12:11-12) God’s wisdom will appear upon us whenever we are in need! “Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.” (John 3:5) Jesus is the threshold of the kingdom of heaven and Holy Spirit is the key to entering the kingdom of heaven. “Receive the holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.” (John 20:22-23) Holy Spirit will give out God’s divine graces through the priest’s ministry. As long as we ask, the kingdom of heaven belongs to us.
